Required Registration for All Ph.D. Students
- Please note it is a requirement for doctoral students to enroll in the placeholder course, NUTR 0399: Doctoral Candidacy Preparation, during every fall and spring registration period which indicates to multiple departments and entities (e.g., loan lenders, the Office of Financial Aid, the Bursar’s office, Tufts International Center, U.S. Homeland Security, Student Advisory and Health Administration (SAHA), the National Student Clearinghouse, etc., that you are a full-time enrolled Ph.D. student regardless of your course enrollment. You must enroll in this course every fall and spring semester until you pass your Qualifying Examination.
- After passing the Qualifying Examination you stop enrolling in NUTR 0399 and instead enroll in the required course, NUTR 0403: PhD Thesis Only, during every fall and spring registration period until you graduate to indicate your full-time enrollment status in your academic record in SIS.
- If you are a BMN or NEDS doctoral student you are required to enrolled in the BMN PhD Seminar course, NUTR 0250, or the NEDS PhD Seminar course, NUTR 0249, every fall and spring semester.
- If you are an AFE, FANPP, or NICBC doctoral student you are required to enroll in two semesters of the PhD seminar, NUTR 0404.
