The Food is Medicine Institute (FIMI) is a university-wide collaborative effort based at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, bringing together experts from across disciplines with other local and national collaborators to advance food is medicine research, training, patient care, and community and policy engagement.

Established in 2021 with a $10 million grant from the USDA, TUCCA aims to provide a solid scientific foundation via published, peer-reviewed data, bring innovation in technology, provide consistency in quality measures to guide the field of cellular agriculture, foster workforce development, and create broader educational impact.
