Online courses at the Friedman School are characterized by small class sizes, engaged faculty members, and rigorous coursework. The certificate courses are highly interactive, so students can expect their teachers to be not just a lecturer, but facilitators of student learning and active participants. While the nature of online learning allows students flexibility and convenience with their studies, the courses are not self-paced. Each student is expected to participate in course activities and discussions every week.
All online courses offered within the certificate programs are designed and taught by Tufts faculty, and held to the same academic standards and rigor as those taught live on the Boston campus. The Friedman Graduate Certificate Programs were reviewed by the accrediting body of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and are encompassed within Tufts University's NEASC accreditation
