The Friedman School pursues cutting-edge research and education from cell to society, including in molecular nutrition, human metabolism, population studies, clinical trials, nutrition interventions and behavior change, communication, food systems and sustainability, global food insecurity, humanitarian crises, and food economics and policy.
Zhilei Shan is a postdoctoral fellow on nutritional epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Shan’s research has mainly focused on diet/lifestyle, biomarkers, and genetics related to type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in population-based studies. At present, Dr. Shan is working with Dr. Fang Fang Zhang to investigate comparative and cost-effectiveness of population strategies to improve diet and reduce cancer burden.
