The Friedman School pursues cutting-edge research and education from cell to society, including in molecular nutrition, human metabolism, population studies, clinical trials, nutrition interventions and behavior change, communication, food systems and sustainability, global food insecurity, humanitarian crises, and food economics and policy.
Julia joined Dr. Mozaffarian’s research team in 2018 as the Research Coordinator for the Global Dietary Database (GDD) project. As Research Coordinator, Julia directs her efforts towards standardizing data from GDD’s hundreds of global collaborators and on public dissemination of the project’s findings. She is also a member of the Masters of Nutrition Science and Policy program 2020 class at Friedman.
Julia’s interests lie in nutrition communications and making relatable and actionable health & nutrition information available to all peoples, regardless of their resources. Before joining Dr. Mozaffarian’s team, she spent time working for both private health & wellness companies as well as SNAP-Ed.
