I am an alumnus of the Biochemical and Molecular Nutrition (BMN) program at the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. I am currently working as an Assistant Professor (Research) in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology, Physiology and Biotechnology at Brown University.
My present research interests involve utilizing in vitro tissue engineering tools to investigate how compounds including dietary components, drugs and toxicants impact human health. During my time as a graduate student at the Friedman School, I was fortunate to develop my passion and skillsets to leverage research tools to elucidate how our diets, as well as obesity, may progress or prevent chronic diseases including cardiovascuar diseases and cancer. My other research interests include developing biomaterials from in vitro tissue for improving tissue repair, as well as for transplantation.
