Learn More About...
Increased support for financial aid is one of the Friedman School’s top priorities. The school’s ability to attract talented, deserving, and passionate candidates is in many cases dependent on our ability to offer financial aid packages that are competitive with peer nutrition programs.
Research conducted at the Friedman School strives to identify science-based solutions to nutritional crises caused by food insecurity, natural disaster, disease, obesity, and aging. Through projects undertaken by faculty, students, and centers, the school plays an active role in devising interventions and policy guidelines that make a real difference in the world.
All Friedman academic programs require or strongly encourage students to complete an internship to enhance their learning and better prepare them to tackle real-world nutrition challenges. Travel to and programming for internships is supported by the Annual Fund.
Our faculty are renowned, respected experts in immunology, neuroscience, biostatistics, epidemiology, and more. The Friedman School brings these experts under one roof, combining their multiple perspectives to create a truly interdisciplinary educational environment. The Annual Fund helps us to attract and retain our esteemed faculty and enables us to support their scientific endeavors.
HNRCA Annual Fund
The HNRCA is the largest research institution in the world devoted to investigating the relationship between nutrition and aging. Gifts to the HNRCA Annual Fund support the teams of scientists in developing their research in sixteen areas of study including, cardiovascular nutrition, obesity and metabolism, nutrition & cancer biology, with the goal of helping people age healthier.
New Entry Sustainable Farming Project
New Entry is an initiative of Tufts University’s Friedman School and partners that works locally, regionally, and across the country to train and support the next generation of farmers. Gifts to New Entry support the growth of farming education programs, expansion of national training programs and partnerships, and greater farm fresh food access for low-income members of our community.
