Jessica Deckinger, MBA, Chief Marketing Officer at Adeo Health Science

Jessica Deckinger is currently the Chief Marketing Officer for Adeo Health Science, a science-driven food company based in Boston with the mission of translating the latest food allergy prevention research into easy to use, organic, and trusted products that support early allergen introduction to infants. She is also a graduate lecturer at Tufts University Graduate School of Nutrition in Entrepreneurial Leadership Studies. Jessica’s past marketing roles have included various global positions with Wolverine World Wide (Kedsshoes), Promotion In Motion (Welch’s Fruit Snacks),and Avon Products. She has also held finance and operations roles at JPMorgan and the National Football League. In addition to her more traditional roles, Jessica has been an active partner in her husband’s entrepreneurial businesses for almost 2 decades, before making leap into full-time startup-life herself 4 years ago. Jessica holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She currently serves on the boards of several leading not-for-profit organizations including Boston Medical Center’s Catwalk for Cancer, the Trustee’s Council of Penn Women, and UPenn Off the Beat. Jessica lives in Weston, Massachusetts with her husband Ken and three amazing little girls.

Jimena Florez, Founder and CEO of Chaak Health Snacks

Jimena Florez is a leading social entrepreneur, passionate about finding new ways to alleviate poverty, improve health and life performance. Her work aims to deliver strategic and social change, by exploring the correlation between food science and human brain development in children. Her multi-disciplinary approach draws from biology, human behavior, science, economics and politics. Jimena pioneered an academic program in her native country of Colombia, to empower farmers by educating them about food safety, organic production and biocomponents. She later founded Chaak Healthy Snacks, an innovative food-science company that develops ready-to-eat snacks engineered with nutrients to improve brain performance. Her work is recognized around the world, including in the US where President Obama publicly acknowledged her for her work as a social leader and food innovator. Her female leadership role within the food industry inspires other entrepreneurs and companies to change their practices and innovates to improve peoples’ health. Jimena’s education programs and products combine proven technological, scientific and economic methods to impact human behavior. Her work engages governments, universities and communities, with strategies aimed at changing children’s food habits and improving their learning processes. Through her collaboration with the Food Innovation Center of Rutgers University and large health organizations like Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Jimena focuses on delivering improved health and learning outcomes to children in underserved communities. Jimena has a Bachelor Degree in Finance and International Relationships from the University Externado of Colombia, and a Masters Degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Wollongong, Australia, with a major in Environmental Economics.
