Maine Farmland Trust is looking for an intern/extern to conduct research and analysis for its State of Maine Agriculture and Fisheries Report. This Report is designed to provide in-depth coverage and analysis of sector-based agricultural and fishery trends in Maine to policymakers and others working on these issues. The hope is that by informing those working on related policies about these trends, more targeted policies will be advanced that address the particular needs of each sector in Maine. The research and analysis would involve collecting data on various agriculture sectors and fisheries in Maine, and interviewing people knowledgeable about those sectors to try to determine if there were certain policy/programmatic/weather or other changes that affected the observed patterns. This internship would take place during the Summer of 2018, but we are flexible in terms of exact start and end dates. Interns will receive a stipend. To apply, email a cover letter and resume to Ellen Griswold.
