Ingredients for Education

Ingredients for Education (IFE) is seeking a graduate student intern to use our program evaluation data to draft a research paper for the purpose of publication.

IFE is a nonprofit organization founded by an award-winning former Executive Producer of Sesame Street International. Our organization is committed to using innovative digital tools to revolutionize the way children and families eat, cook, play, and live healthfully. We are passionate about eliminating health disparities and reducing the prevalence of obesity and diabetes by leveling the playing field for all children through the use of multimedia videos and interactive digital tools. IFE and our team consist of talented and creative digital media and public health experts.

Our marquee program, KickinNutrition.TV, is a digital health/nutrition and wellness curriculum program designed to use video-based peer-to-peer modeling and interactivity to increase cooking skills and influence nutrition knowledge and health behaviors among youth in low-income, minority communities. The program has been implemented with over 25,000 youth in four states. Three evaluations of the program have been conducted, the first with funding from USDA-NIFA-SBIR. 

Who You Are:

You are a graduate student who is a skilled writer and analytic thinker interested in gaining experience writing academic papers with the goal of being published in an academic journal. You are studying and are highly knowledgeable about public health and/or program development, particularly as programs relate to nutrition and obesity prevention. You are comfortable working independently, highly organized, and self-driven. You are responsive to constructive criticism and understand that much iteration and collaboration may be needed to successfully publish a thoughtful and professional academic paper.
