We are excited to announce the release of the 2017-2018 Friedman School Annual Report.
Over the past year, we have been carefully gathering information to create an annual report that reflects the progress the Friedman School has made since last year’s report and the launch of our Strategic Plan in November of 2016.
This year’s report features highlights and news from July 2017-June 2018, including everything from students and faculty baking and breaking bread in our new collaborative Tufts Food Lab initiative, to a passionate and inspiring commencement speech from celebrity chef and social activist (and recipient of an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree from Tufts!) José Andrés.
Collaboration and innovation were just two of the themes that underscored our activities this year. We're always thinking about new ways to enrich our academic offerings and set the pace for innovation in the global food system. This year, we propelled our ideas forward with a number of fruitful partnerships with congressional leaders, the House Hunger Caucus, our prestigious roster of entrepreneurship advisors, and researchers and scientists from around the globe. From ramping up our own event planning, to traveling the world to present research, our students, staff, and faculty are making an impact wherever they land.
Our Annual Report showcases the incredible work the Friedman Community has done over the past year in service of our ambitious school goals. In keeping with our school values of sustainability and innovation, the report is digital-only for the second year in a row.
