The Friedman School is now offering Micro-Courses covering a variety of topics in the field of Nutrition. Micro-Courses are free, bite-sized (30-60 minute) video courses that feature Friedman faculty discussing current trends and topics in food and nutrition.
Our newest micro-course, "Dietary Supplements: What are they, what do they do, and who should take them?" is presented by Jeffrey B. Blumberg, Research Professor at the Friedman School.
In this course, you'll take a look at how dietary supplements are regulated, then delve into the scientific evidence on how certain supplements, including multivitamins, fish oil, and vitamin E may affect human health. You'll also learn about the advantages and limitations of dietary supplements, as well as the circumstances under which certain people might consider taking them.
