Open Forum: Presidental Search
As you know, President Monaco has announced his intention to step down in the summer of 2023. The Board of Trustees has formed a search committee and retained the firm of Isaacson, Miller (the same firm which led the successful searches for both President Bacow and President Monaco) to assist the board in selecting our next president.
The Presidential Search Committee will be conducting community meetings to meet with constituents across the Tufts community. The committee will synthesize what they learn into an "Opportunity and Challenge Profile" which the search firm will share with prospective candidates and key sources. In addition, the committee will use the feedback from these meetings to establish the criteria for evaluating the skills and experience of presidential candidates.
You are invited to a special meeting with members of the Presidential Search Committee and representatives from Isaacson, Miller.
This is an opportunity to express your views to the committee.
In advance of the meeting, the committee invites you to consider the following questions:
- How is Tufts positioned today?
- As you look forward, what are the most important things you want the next president to preserve?
- What are the seemingly intractable problems that Tufts must begin to make progress on?
- What must the next president do to be genuinely successful at Tufts?
If you are unable to attend, you may also learn about the Search Committee members, the search process, and submit your thoughts through the Presidential Search Committee website.
This event is only open to members of the Friedman Community. Please check email for details about how to join via Zoom.
