"Pivoting a School Wellness Research Program in the Time of COVID-19-Related School Closures"
Dr. Hager will briefly describe two large studies in Maryland: (1) a continuous quality improvement study of Local Wellness Policy implementation (LWP) funded through a state partnership since 2012 and (2) a randomized trial of the impact of LWP implementation on child health outcomes funded by a USDA/NIFA AFRI childhood obesity prevention grant (currently underway). She will also discuss the impact of COVID-19 closures on these projects and how her ongoing research program has pivoted in the time of COVID-19.
Dr. Hager is an Associate Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the Departments of Pediatrics and Epidemiology & Public Health. She is the Director of the University of Maryland Program in Health Equity and Population Health.
