Please join students and faculty for this semester's first meeting of the Sustainable Diets Journal Club, Thursday, October 3rd, at 12:30PM in Jaharis 118. This journal club will meet once a month to discuss the most recent papers in the field of sustainable diets. We will discuss articles which look across the domains of sustainability including environmental impact, health and nutrition, society, culture, and economics. All are invited to join! This semester's first presenter will be Kate Clancy a food systems consultant, Visiting Scholar at the Center for a Livable Future Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, Adjunct Professor at Tufts University, and Senior Fellow in the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture, University of Minnesota. Kate will be discussing the history of sustainable diets and her landmark article Dietary guidelines for sustainability published in the Journal of Nutrition Education in 1986. The first 30 minutes of the meeting will be used for planning and Kate will speak from 1-2PM.
