On Thursday May 2nd and Friday May 3rd, Tufts University will host Dr. Arturo Massol-Deyá, the executive director of Casa Pueblo and professor of microbiology and ecology at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. Casa Pueblo is driven to protect Puerto Rico’s natural resources and to increase energy independence in Puerto Rico. Dr. Massol-Deyá’s research interests include tropical microbial ecology and discovering ways to use natural methods to clean up contamination.
Dr. Massol-Deyá will give a seminar titled, “Building Resilience and Ensuring Sovereignty at the Food-Energy Nexus within Puerto Rico" on Tufts' Medford campus on May 3rd from 12pm-1:30pm. In addition to this seminar, the Tufts community is invited to participate of a dinner with Arturo on Thursday May 2nd and the lunch that will follow after the seminar.
