Join The Friedman Food Policy Action Council (FFPAC), The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) and Project Bread for an Advocacy 101 Training to learn how to end hunger through political action.
The training will walk you through the basics of the legislative process and timeline, legislative priorities that support hunger relief, and the importance of your role in influencing legislative action on those priorities. Specifically, we’ll focus on the Massachusetts Emergency Food Assistance Program (MEFAP), the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Breakfast After the Bell.
We’ll practice grassroots advocacy tactics, e.g., making phone calls, meeting with legislators, sending emails. There may also be an opportunity to meet and talk with your local government officials at the training.
