"A Startup Turning Food Waste Into a Force For Good"
Abstract
Food waste is a growing environmental issue here in the U.S. and around the world. As we waste food we not only waste the precious resources that go into growing and harvesting this food, but we also actively contribute to methane emissions in the atmosphere. This extensive waste also comes at a time when millions of people do not know where their next meal will come from. Food for All is a local startup aiming to help tackle the issue of food waste at the restaurant level. The presentation will explore existing market inefficiencies that are contributing to food waste and explain how leveraging technology can turn food waste into a force for good. We will also outline our journey as a startup and discuss current challenges we face as we attempt to scale this solution. In the end our hope is to inspire conversation and input from the audience in order to work together so that quality food is tasted not wasted.
