Inclusive Learning Institute - Apply Now
Applications are now being accepted for the August 2018 Inclusive Learning Institute.
Dates: August 21-24, 2018
Location: Medford Campus
To apply please visit the CELT website.
Through interactive workshops, discussions, and engaging activities, this four-day institute will provide participants with foundational skills and strategies to foster an inclusive classroom environment and promote enhanced learning for all students in their classes. The Institute is intended for faculty members teaching a traditional or mini course for graduate or undergraduate students. In the institute, we will discuss ways to craft a syllabus that sets the stage for creating an inclusive learning space, inclusive assessment practices, and teaching strategies that respond to the diverse needs and experiences of students. By the end of the institute, participants will have made substantial progress on revising a syllabus, and come away with the tools and confidence to begin the process of creating inclusive learning environments in their courses.
The Inclusive Learning Institute offers participants:
Scheduled time and resources to (re)design a course that prioritizes the fostering of an inclusive learning environment.
A supportive environment to discuss how to address difficult issues in your class.
Opportunities to engage with colleagues from across the university about ideas and practices that support teaching and student learning.
Access to materials that support continued learning about diversity, inclusion, and equity that can be used to enhance your classroom learning environment.
Please note that you must be available to attend all four days of the Institute in order to apply. Breakfast and Lunch served everyday. Free parking. There is a small amount of pre-work required.
