Featuring: Lois Gibbs & Stephen Lester
From unlikely activist to community organizer, Lois Gibbs led over 800 Love Canal residents in an historic, grassroots fight against a 21,000 toxic dump that was making her community sick. With the help of environmental scientist and toxicologist Stephen Lester, Gibbs successfully relocated 900 families to safer land. She and her husband Stephen Lester have been at the forefront of the environmental movement for the past several decades.
Organized by Tufts' Tisch College of Civic Life.
