Read through what you'll need to get your Friedman experience moving and contact our Director of Admissions with any questions you might have along the way.
To be eligible for admission, applicants must have completed a Bachelor's degree by the time of matriculation with a GPA of 3.0 or above, and have demonstrated their commitment and ability to succeed in the program through previous coursework, including at least one course in general biology, chemistry, or physiology (with a grade of B- or higher).
Of note: some individual courses in the Biochemical and Molecular Nutrition (BMN) specialization require further prerequisites. Those prerequisites include undergraduate-level courses in general nutrition, general biology, general chemistry (with lab), organic chemistry, and biochemistry. Applicants interested in this specialization should indicate so during the application process. Admitted students who indicate an interest in BMN and have not completed the pre-requisite coursework will be assigned an academic advisor who can help explore options for completing the pre-requisite coursework.
The school has permanently removed the GRE as a requirement.

- Academic Transcripts - Applicants may upload unofficial transcripts to their online applications for use in the application review process. Official transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate study are required from those who enroll in the program and must be received prior to the start of your entering semester. Transcripts are only considered official when sent directly to the Friedman School from the institution, either electronically or via hard copy. We will accept official documents sent by the applicant if they are still in the original, sealed envelope. Transcripts from foreign universities must be translated into English. - International Students - In addition to admissions requirements, international students must demonstrate an adequate command of the English language. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores or other evidence of English proficiency are required. A minimum TOEFL score of 100 on the internet based exam or minimum IELTS score of 7.0 is required. The TOEFL or IELTS requirements are waived if the applicant completed at least two years of post-secondary education conducted in English in a country where English is the first language. If sending scores, please use code 3913. The International Center will contact admitted international applicants regarding funds and visa paperwork a few months before the start date of school. All transcripts must be translated into English. Foreign credential evaluations through WES or ECE are recommended and are considered official transcripts.

- Online Application – It is not necessary to upload transcripts, personal statement, letters of recommendation or resume. They will be submitted through DICAS.
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) – The GRE is optional for applications to master’s degree programs. Please use code 3913 if sending scores.
- Dietetic Internship Centralized Application System (DICAS) - Submit personal statement, recommendations, and transcript through this application.
- Application Fee- Pay a nonrefundable $70.00 (U.S.) application through the application system.

- Academic Transcripts - Official transcripts (translated into English) of all undergraduate and graduate degrees are required. The applicant is to gather all transcripts in sealed envelopes from the registrar of the issuing institution and send those unopened transcripts to the Friedman School along with all other application materials as noted above. Alternately, transcripts may be mailed directly from the institution to the Friedman School Admissions Office. Photocopied transcripts, faxed transcripts, and student copies of transcripts may be submitted for the purpose of evaluating your application, but an official copy must follow. Official electronic transcripts are accepted and may be emailed to nutritioncertificates@tufts.edu.
