Biography
Dr. Misha Eliasziw is a biostatistician who seeks out opportunities to apply mathematical and probabilistic methods to solve clinical and public health questions through numbers. Dr. Eliasziw's theoretical research is focused on advancing methodology in the areas of interrater agreement and intra-rater reliability studies, which include inferences for the kappa statistic and intra-class correlation coefficient. Methods arising from Dr. Eliasziw's research have been applied in clinical areas such as physiotherapy, epilepsy, advanced brain imaging, and nutrition. Over the years, Dr. Eliasziw has collaborated on numerous research projects, including stroke, multiple sclerosis, kidney disease, mental health, sexual assault, oncology, and nutrition. Dr. Eliasziw is currently collaborating in several studies that are assessing the benefits of healthy eating and vitamin supplementation in school-age children. As an educator, Dr. Eliasziw developing blended learning teaching methods to provide a sound understanding of biostatistics that is accessible to all students
