Biography 

Lynne Ausman is the Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Professor in International Nutrition, as well as a professor at the Friedman School, and a former scientist in the Cardiovascular Nutrition Laboratory at the HNRCA, where she focused on advancing research in dietary fatty acids, glycemic index assessment, and broader cardiovascular nutrition. Her work examines how dietary fat, cholesterol, and fiber influence chronic disease risk, including coronary artery disease and colon cancer, while also contributing to ongoing international nutrition initiatives.

Past projects include work on the USAID Feed the Future Nutrition Innovation Laboratory where she worked with a group of Friedman School collaborators to set up a post-secondary diploma program to provide coursework and 1,200 hours of clinical internship to produce dietitians in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Lynne is also the director of the Master of Nutrition Science and Policy degree program, a unique hybrid learning program that has transitioned into the new Online M.S. degree program with a specialization of Nutrition Science and Policy.
