Biography
Kelly Kane, MS, RD, LDN, is the Director of Nutrition and Dietetic Internship Director at the Frances Stern Nutrition Center at Tufts Medical Center and Assistant Professor in the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. She has been a Registered Dietitian for over 25 years where she has worked in the clinical setting providing medical nutrition therapy for acutely ill adults and children as well as educating patients on ways to improve their health with nutrition. She has taught nutrition to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as health professionals including dietetic interns, physician assistants, and medical and dental students for the past 20 years. She is the co-editor of the textbook, Advanced Medical Nutrition Therapy by Jones and Bartlett Learning and serves as Editor of the quarterly peer reviewed journal, Topics in Clinical Nutrition. She also works as a nutrition consultant with various business and physician groups and has served as a nutrition subject matter expert for various law firms. She has served as Nutrition Payment Specialist for the Massachusetts Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, is active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as a member of the Nutrition Dietetic Educators and Preceptors practice group. Kelly was been awarded the 2022 Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year by the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, 2022 Outstanding Dietitian of the Year by the Massachusetts Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as 2020 Outstanding Dietetics Educator of the northeast region.
