This is a satisfactory/unsatisfactory graded course designed to lay the foundation for nutrition research with data-intensive methodology through a mix of student-led topic discussions, student presentations of research data and analysis, and faculty-led workshops on research methodologies. Students will become acquainted with a variety of approaches to data analytics, research design, helping them to develop their own research projects and evaluate the products of their research. This course is required for all doctoral students in the Nutrition Epidemiology and Data Science (NEDS) program and Masters students admitted to the NEDS doctoral program. Students from other Friedman School programs and Masters-level students may be considered with the instructor’s consent.
