This seminar is an introduction and overview of issues in forced migration, and how humanitarian and human security issues are related to displacement. The course provides an overview of the scale, scope and causes of global displacement, theories of forced migration, the impact of forced displacement on food security, livelihoods and protection, and the ways in which displaced people, governments and the international humanitarian system have responded, at the international, national and community levels.
