Build Your Own Certificate
- Email your Academic Advisor, diane.mckay@tufts.edu, to discuss your Fall 2023 Certificate course plans.
As a reminder, students are welcome to take any Certificate course they want, as long as they have met any required prerequisites for that particular course. If you would like your Certificate to be in a particular area, two of your Certificate courses must be within the same Certificate Program track. The third course for completion of your Certificate may be from the same track, or an elective course from a different Certificate Program. If you would like to enroll in a Fall 2023 Certificate course that is listed for a different Certificate program, please email your request to your academic advisor, Diane McKay, who will be able to help you plan your Fall 2023 schedule and will also notify the Friedman School's Registrar the name of the Certificate course that you should be enrolled in for the fall semester.
Students in the Build Your Own Certificate have the benefit of being able to enroll in any three Certificate courses based on interest (as long as any required pre-requisites have been fulfilled).
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Beginning September 2, log in to Canvas, the learning platform used for Certificate course sites, and review your Fall 2023 course syllabus, reading assignments, and connect with your instructor; Canvas Tutorial: https://canvas.tufts.edu/courses/169
Textbook Information and Course Syllabus is available at: https://nutrition.tufts.edu/academics/certificates/all-course. Note: The Fall 2023 course syllabi and textbook information will be available by September 2, 2022 via Canvas but you can review the previous version of the syllabus posted online in the course description.
Tuition
Important to Note: If you have a Hold on your account in SIS from the Tufts Health Sciences Bursar's Office because you are past due on a tuition balance from a previous semester, you will not be able to enroll in your Certificate course. You will need to contact the Tufts Health Sciences Bursar's Office at hsbursar@tufts.edu or (617) 636-6551 to resolve the Hold and you'll be able to enroll.
- Fall 2023 Certificate (NUTC) course tuition is $2,970.
- Fall 2023 In-Person (NUTR) course tuition is $6,540.
- Fall 2023 Hybrid (NUTB) course tuition is $6,540.
- If you do not pay your tuition by the first day of your Fall 2023 course (September 5) you will not be in compliance as a matriculated student at Tufts and you will be subject to a late fee. A late fee (10% of bill up to $750) may be assessed if a bill has not been paid by that time.
- Tufts University bills tuition electronically via Tufts eBill.
- Students can provide access to their parents and other invited viewers by granting them access in the “Bills and Balances” tab through the SIS Portal. Please follow these instructions at http://go.tufts.edu/inviteviewers.
- You will receive an email notice from "TuftsEbillView-info@tufts.edu" when an eBill is posted. To view or pay your tuition bill, log into SIS (go.tufts.edu/sis) and click, the Bills & Balances tab and select, “My eBill” or select, “Make Payment.” Note: The Internet browsers that work best when you log in to SIS and attempt to remit your tuition are Chrome and Internet Explorer. Safari is NOT compatible. Additionally, you will need to change your Internet Option settings to "Enable Pop-Ups."
- Please note while your eBill is a snapshot at a set point in time (similar to a credit card statement), you may review real-time account information via the Bills & Balances tab in SIS.
- Late Payment Fees: Accounts that have an outstanding tuition balance by the semester due date, are subject to a late payment fee equal to 10% of unpaid charges. Initially, fees will be assessed on balances greater than or equal to $2,000 but any balance amount is potentially subject to fee if not resolved in a timely manner. The maximum late fee assessed on any balance will be $750 per semester.
- Click here to view instructions how to pay tuition via SIS (with screen shots).
