The mission of the Tisch Food Center is to conduct research on food and nutrition education practice and policy and to translate that research into resources for educators, policy makers, and advocates, to give people power to demand healthy, just, sustainable food. The vision is to transform the status quo through food and nutrition education. The Tisch Food Center was launched in February, 2013 and is a leader locally, nationally, and internationally, particularly in the area of food and nutrition education in schools and school meals.
The Tisch Food Center seeks an Executive Director to direct nutrition research and policy advocacy, and supervise all staff. The Executive Director will also have an appointment as a Research Faculty in the Program in Nutrition, with rank at the Assistant, Associate, or Full depending on the experience of the applicant. This non-tenured faculty appointment has a teaching load of one course per academic year, as well as responsibilities to supervise master students as part of experiential learning in food and nutrition policy and to advise doctoral students on their dissertation research.
