Food on the Move Evaluation
Graduate Internship – Qualitative Data Analysis
Position Description:
RIPHI launched a large-scale evaluation of Food on the Move during Summer 2018, including a customer survey and focus groups with SNAP recipients. We are currently analyzing data and preparing reports to disseminate our findings in both the peer-reviewed literature and professional conferences. RIPHI seeks a graduate intern to assist the RIPHI Evaluation Team with qualitative data analysis and reporting. The graduate intern will assist the Lead Evaluator with analyzing the focus group transcripts and summarizing findings for both academics and practitioners. The intern will also assist with developing study instruments for a pilot diabetes prevention study, including a longitudinal survey and biometric measurements. The final deliverable for this position is a poster presentation and/or scientific report. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience with program evaluation related to food access in a community setting.

SNAP Incentives Policy Intern
This position will report into the Food Access Manager and will support the work of the retail SNAP incentive initiative. The focus of this internship will be the generation of a policy analysis of the proposed expansion on SNAP incentives into a retail setting as an economic benefit for Rhode Island. There may also be a variety of other responsibilities related to this campaign, including but not limited to:
- Survey administration
- Data entry and analysis
- Report generation
- Detailed note taking at various meetings
- Food policy research
