Postdoctoral Fellow Position
A postdoctoral fellow position recently became available in the Laboratory of Reproductive Endocrinology and Women’s Health at Pennington Biomedical Research Center (Baton Rouge, LA). Please see the description below and forward to anyone in your department who may qualify.
Description:
The postdoctoral fellow will work in the Reproductive Endocrinology and Women's Health Laboratory and will have responsibilities in several ongoing clinical studies. The fellowship will provide training in clinical and translational research, clinical trial management, as well as develop skills in critical thinking, manuscript writing and grant writing necessary for establishing an independent research career. Specific expertise will be developed in delivering a structured behavioral intervention including use of e-health tools and devices. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the fellow will also work with existing datasets from studies that imposed lifestyle, dietary and/or pharmacological interventions to understand how body weight, adiposity and insulin resistance impact physiological function across the lifespan. Responsibilities include study and personnel and clinical trial execution and management; data collection, data analysis, and preparation of data for publication in peer-reviewed journals; hypothesis generation and grant writing.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Doctoral degree in Psychology, Nutrition, Kinesiology or a related discipline, show strong scientific credentials in the field of weight management, have at least five academic publications and possess excellent communication skills.
