This project, led by faculty at the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, aims to evaluate the impact of produce prescriptions on food insecurity, health outcomes, and health care utilization among over 5,000 low-income Americans participating in one of nine Wholesome Wave programs incentivizing access to healthy produce. This 18-month project will generate findings that can inform policy, practice, and further needed research for integrating produce prescriptions into health care to improve diet, food insecurity, and health among low-income Americans.
