The Director of Career Services leads and oversees all aspects of the Friedman School career services. The Director will lead the initial and ongoing development of strategy; needs assessments; and the planning and execution of comprehensive career services to address the needs of all degrees and academic programs. S/he will manage a team of career services professionals including training and developing staff. S/he will identify and partner with internal and external constituents to identify and strengthen relationships with individuals and organizations as prospective employers or providers of internships, including alumni, businesses, government agencies and other organizations. The Director will also oversee all aspects of the Tufts Food and Nutrition Innovation Institute, or similar new initiatives that may arise in the future, as related to student careers to generate workshops, internships, career fairs, and career opportunities. S/he will design, oversee, implement, and evaluate innovative programming to prepare students for employment. The Director will evaluate, design, and implement best practices for career development, career searches, and career advising. S/he will work closely with Friedman School leadership, faculty and staff and her/his counterparts at other Tufts schools and other institutions to provide education and to implement best practices throughout the School. The Director will also represent the School at University and external events and meetings. The Director will oversee Career Services team operations including proposing and managing budgets, facilities, information technology assessment and planning, and long-term strategic planning with Deans of the Friedman School and her/his counterparts at other Tufts schools.
