Serves as a CYS Food and Nutrition Specialist with responsibility for the oversight and operation of the food program in the CYS Programs IAW all applicable regulations and standards. Acts as Subject Matter Expert in nutritional needs of children from birth - 18 years of age. Provides technical support/expertise to other CYS Program Managers in implementing nutrition education into the child/youth curriculum. Conducts written observations/inspections in all CYS facilities, sites and homes (regardless of sponsorship) to meet USDA enrollment and Army requirements. Ensures cooking facilities maintain appropriate standards for condition and sanitation for food service/preparation and storage. Develops food program budget IAW Army Food Program metrics and provides to CYS Coordinator for CYS budget. Manages program to budget. Conducts written analyses of budget variances. Prepares justification for funding of program resource requirements.
