Join a dynamic team supporting patient wellness. CommuniCare Health Centers is a network of Federally Qualified Health Centers raising the bar for high quality healthcare. CCHCs mission is to provide access to high quality healthcare, regardless of ones ability to pay. Our comprehensive patient-centered services include medical, dental, substance abuse treatment, mental health, health education and outreach services to low income, multi-ethnic, uninsured and underinsured populations.
CommuniCares Food Programs remove barriers to healthy eating so that everyone can access good food to prevent and/or manage chronic disease. We connect patients and staff to each other and to their local food system to build community and restore the natural environment.
Culinary education activities include virtual cooking classes, and in-person cooking classes and food demonstrations (pending public health guidance) that highlight garden-grown vegetables. CommuniCare implements Cooking Matters (http://cookingmatters.org/), curricula that equip families with the skills to select and cook healthy, affordable and delicious meals. Culinary education is integrated with clinical care and with the CommuniCare Garden & Outdoor Classroom, which distributed 2,000 lbs of produce to patients in its first year of production.
