Boston Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) is an innovative new pilot program from the Mayor’s Office of Food Access (OFA) in partnership with Fair Food Network to provide an incentive to SNAP recipients, to make fresh fruits and vegetables more affordable.
Boston Double Up Food Bucks is a way for SNAP participants to stretch their SNAP dollars and buy more fresh fruits & vegetables at corner and non-profit grocery stores. Through Boston Double up, when a SNAP customer pays for fresh fruits and vegetables with their EBT card at one of our participating locations they will receive a dollar-to-dollar match, up to $10 per day. As part of the program evaluation, OFA in partnership with Tufts Friedman School will be conducting customer intercept surveys to assess program perceptions, fruit and vegetable purchases and consumption, food security, and sociodemographics. OFA is seeking an enumerator to conduct customer surveys.
Role and responsibilities:
As an enumerator, responsibilities include:
- Attending a 1-hour survey training.
- Conducting customer intercept surveys for ~7, 4-hour sessions on site at stores in Roxbury and Dorchester (most sessions will be on weekends and evenings) from March 1 – 15.
Qualifications:
- Completed CITI training.
- Experience or training in survey design and implementation.
- Professional and/or academic background in food systems, food policy, nutrition, public health, education, public policy, public service, community organizing, or another related field.
- Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders and working in diverse communities.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Creative, innovative problem-solver.
- Self-motivated but also capable of working collaboratively within a small team.
- Spanish fluency strongly preferred.
Stipend: $500 for 25 - 30 hours between March 1 – 15, 2020
