Associate Director of International Research-Obesity Prevention (Global Health Advocacy Incubator) at the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids

The Global Health Advocacy Incubator, a program of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, draws on lessons from tobacco control and its growing experience on other public health issues to support policy change campaigns around the globe to improve health.

This position plays a leading role in Global Health Advocacy Incubator’s (GHAI) efforts to support and train (Non-Governmental Organization) NGO partners working on obesity prevention policy change campaigns in specific low-and middle-income countries.  The Associate Director will serve as a subject matter expert on obesity prevention policy issues for the GHAI’s Obesity Prevention (OP) team and will work with global and local partners to translate and use research in support of policy change efforts.

The Associate Director should have extensive knowledge in obesity prevention issues, including the problem, cause, and policy solutions; must be well-versed in the literature on these issues, and should be particularly adept at recognizing and creating opportunities to use research to inform and enhance policy change campaigns. Previous involvement in advocacy campaigns and applying research to media and policy advocacy is critical.  Global research and advocacy experience abroad is highly desirable. The position reports to the GHAI Vice President.
