Friedman School Staff Recognition Award
The Friedman School staff recognition award program is designed to recognize a staff member who demonstrates exceptional contributions to the Friedman School, extraordinary service, dedication, a commitment to excellence, and/or actions beyond the standard expectations of their role. It is the highest level of formal recognition at the Friedman School.
Eligibility
Those eligible to be nominated for an award are staff members employed directly by the Friedman School who have successfully completed their orientation period, are not under any performance improvement plans or similar discussions with their supervisors and/or HR, and are not members of the review committee. Staff members are employees hired through the Tufts Human Resources office and do not include faculty appointments of any rank, postdoctoral scholars, students, or temporary workers. Staff may focus on administration, research, and/or program support. Staff of all ranks, FTEs, physical locations, funding sources, and appointment lengths are eligible for this award.
Nominations
- All Tufts community members may nominate eligible Friedman School staff members
- A nominator may nominate multiple individuals, but may not submit repeat nominations for the same individual
- Nominations are for individuals only, not for teams
- Multiple nominators may submit a joint nomination
- One cannot nominate themselves
- Nominations cannot be anonymous
- Nominations will be confidentially vetted for eligibility, removing from consideration any not meeting all eligibility criteria
- Nominations must be submitted through a Qualtrics link
- Review the nomination best practices for a strong nomination!
Review Committee
The committee comprises 3 staff, holding rotating, staggered 3-year terms. Starting in the 2nd year of the program, prior years' award winners may become non-voting ex-officio committee members.
Please contact Courtney King by Friday, March 31st if you would like to participate in the committee.

Paper Cards
Paper cards for handwritten notes are kept on the counter at Jaharis 274, near the mailboxes outside student affairs, and on the credenza near the cookbooks at 75 Kneeland Street 8th floor. Take one, write your note, and deliver it to your colleague!
Electronic Cards
Electronic cards can be emailed via the Friedman School Administration portal.
