Friedman School Orientation
The Friedman School's business operations staff hold periodic Friedman School-specific orientation sessions for new staff members and postdocs joining the school to supplement the onboarding they receive through the Tufts HR Orientation and program/office training to help provide information about contacts, policies, and procedures at the school level.
New staff and postdocs will be contacted directly by Courtney King to join an upcoming session.
Administrative Staff Meetings
Executive Administrative Dean Ed Kleifgen convenes the Friedman School's administrative staff several times annually. Past meetings have focused on providing administrative updates, university-wide policy and procedure changes, providing feedback to central university offices, and establishing Friedman School staff recognition programs. Please provide suggestions for future meeting agenda topics to Susan Williams.
Staff included in administrative staff meetings are those whose roles include a substantial administrative component from the school's business operations, finance, student affairs, communications, sponsored research, faculty affairs, administrative and faculty support functions as well as program coordinators, administrators, managers, and directors who support the school's research programs. Also invited to attend are the Friedman School's colleagues from Advancement, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Budget Center, Human Resources, and Public Relations.
Tufts Threat Assessment and Management (TTAM)
The Tufts Threat Assessment and Management (TTAM) teams are responsible for threat assessment and management activities on behalf of the university as part of the university’s commitment to maintaining a safe environment where we can learn, work, and live without threat of violence. The university's Threat Assessment Manager provides overview sessions to discuss TTAM’s responsibilities and how they work with the schools across Tufts to ensure the safety of the Tufts’ community.
All Friedman School community members are encouraged to attend to future TTAM information sessions, review the TTAM website and FAQ, and contact TTAM team members to learn about the warning signs of potential violent or threatening behavior and the variety of tools and resources available at Tufts to prevent and address them.
If you become aware of a situation believed to pose a threat to the safety of the community or one of its members, contact TTAM by one of four mechanisms:
- In an emergency: Call TUPD at 617-627-6911
- Email the TTAM team: threatassessment@elist.tufts.edu
- Make a report online via EthicsPoint or TIPS (may be anonymous)
- Consult with a TTAM member
