Research
General Research: 

Livelihoods and conflict: vulnerability and risk among different livelihood groups. Pastoralism, from marginalization to maladaptations. Transnational livelihoods, migration and remittance flows among receiving and sending communities in near and far diaspora. Public nutrition, nutritional benchmarks and decision-making in complex emergencies.

Current Research: 

"Livelihoods, Power and Choice: the Vulnerability of the Northern Rizaygat Darfur" (the impact of the Darfur conflict on pastoralist livelihoods, especially the Arab camel-herding groups). "Targeting in Complex Emergencies" (The role of the recipient community in managing and targeting humanitarian assistance in complex emergencies - particularly food aid). "IDPs, migration and remittance flows" (Studies of IDP livelihoods, with a focus on migration and remittance flows in protracted crises)

Past Research: 

Nutritional, food security and livelihoods assessment. Rights based minimum standards of disaster response. Food aid programming. Public nutrition in emergencies
