Alumni Awards - Nominations

The nomination period for our 2017 Alumni Awards is now open! For questions about the process, please contact Janine Seidel in Alumni Relations or 617-636-3548.

Award Descriptions

Leadership and Expertise Award: This award is presented to an individual who is conducting cutting-edge or high-impact work in their field. The recipient will be a strong leader and respected expert in their profession.

Nutrition Impact Award: This award is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the field of nutrition. The recipient must demonstrate creativity, innovation and strong vision in their work.

Leah Horowitz Award - In memory of Leah Horowitz (FPAN ’06): This award is presented to an individual who demonstrates a substantial commitment to forging relationships based on service in humanitarian field work. The recipient must strive to achieve lasting change by empowering individuals in their local communities, seek to bridge cultures and create systems-based solutions to problems.

In the letter you attach here (Word or PDF only please), please describe why you believe the nominee is deserving of this recognition and highlight how the nominee has demonstrated innovation in the nutrition profession. Please consider the following questions: 1) How has the work of the nominee met an existing need of the public, a specific population/target audience, or the nutrition profession? 2) Has the nominee exhibited creativity, originality, innovation, or vision in their field? 3) Does the nominee's work have potential for future impact?
