Take a Single Course - Online or On-Campus

If you are not in a Friedman degree program, you may be eligible to apply to enroll in a Friedman degree program course or a Friedman Online Certificate program course and billed the corresponding semester tuition; we refer to this type of enrollment as “Special Student” enrollment.

  • Friedman allows qualified individuals to take up to four degree program courses (NUTR) without first being admitted to a Friedman degree program and allows qualified individuals to take one non-degree program course (NUTC) without first being admitted to the Friedman Online Graduate Certificate program.

  • The Non-Degree Special Student tuition for a single Friedman degree program course in the 2016-2017 Academic Year is: $4,892 and the Certificate Special Student tuition for a single Friedman Online Certificate course is $2,920.

  • Tuition Remission for Tufts University Employees:  If you are a Tufts University employee who wishes to take a class at the Friedman School as a Non-Degree Special Student, please be aware that there may be additional fees. Before submitting a Special Student Application Form, please review Page 22 of the Friedman School's Policy and Procedures Handbook to be clear about the policies, process, and costs involved.

  • Important to Note: You may NOT enroll simultaneously in Nutrition degree program courses and Certificate courses.
