Examples of Endowed Funds
- The Eleanor Champney Bristol (J36) Scholarship Fund provides annual financial assistance to select students.
- The Helen Smith Brownstein Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Mrs. Brownstein's surviving son, Robert Brownstein, with additional support from Mrs. Brownstein's brother, Charles Smith. It provides student scholarship support each year.
- The Budd Family Endowment for Nutrition Education and Research was established by Mary H. Budd (U57) and Edward H. Budd (A55, JP80, JP86), Trustee of Tufts University and Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.
- The Howard (A29) and Perley Cummings Fund provides general support to the nutrition school each year.
- The Marianne Louise Dallas Memorial Fund provides general support to the nutrition school each year.
- The Armand Erpf Nutrition Fund provides general support to the nutrition school each year.
- The Alan Shawn Feinstein International Famine Center was established with a gift from the Feinstein Family Foundation
- The Stanley N. Gershoff Professor of Nutrition Science and Policy honors the legacy of the founding dean of the nutrition school. It has been made possible by a gift from an anonymous donor. Professor and Senior Scientist, Alice H. Lichtenstein, D.Sc. is the first Gershoff Professor at Tufts.
- The Jean Mayer Chair in Nutrition was established by Mr. Henry J. Leir. Irwin H. Rosenberg, M.D., Dean of Nutrition Sciences, is the current holder.
- The Alexander N. McFarlane Professorship was established in honor of the late Dr. McFarlane (A34), a Tufts trustee. Professor John Hammock, Ph.D., is currently the McFarlane Professor.
- The Roche Nutrition Scholarship provides scholarship and stipend support to a graduate student conducting research in human nutrition science. Awarded annually, this fund is underwritten by a gift from Roche Vitamins.
- The Helmut W. Schumann Fund for Research in Human Nutrition provides annual support for student research in human nutrition science.
Examples of Special Purpose Funds
- The Aaron Foundation Internship Fund provides financial aid to student interns worldwide each year.
- The Fund for Gershoff Scholars was established by an anonymous donor in honor of Stanley Gershoff, Ph.D., Dean of the School of Nutrition from 1981 to 1993. The Fund is supported each year by friends, alumni, faculty and former colleagues.
- The Hamish Munro Memorial Fund was established in memory of the first director of the USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University. It is supported by friends, faculty and former colleagues.
- The David Patrick O'Brien Memorial Fund was created in memory of a Tufts graduate student whose work in humanitarian assistance is remembered by family, friends, faculty and students. This award is given to a deserving Fletcher or Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy student each year.
- The Rebecca Ann Roubenoff Memorial Fund was created in memory of Ms. Roubenoff (N92), a dietician. This prize is awarded to a deserving graduate at commencement each year.
