Education Partnerships in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
The Friedman School has recently joined with Ras Al Khaimah, one of the seven Emirates in the United Arab Emirates to participate in establishing Ras Al Khaimah, or "RAK" as a hub for nutrition education and health care that will serve populations in the UAE, neighboring Gulf States and South Asia.
Under the direction of His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, the government created the Investment and Development Office, and EDRAK, to fulfill the vision of three unique projects.

Tufts' Friedman School was selected to participate by developing a:
Masters of Nutrition degree program in RAK,
Continuing Medical Education programs, and
a
world-class Health and Wellness Centre.
Each facet of the collaboration brings the expertise of the School's broad focus on nutrition science and policy together with the world-renowned faculty of Friedman School and the Tufts Medical Center to deliver graduate degree education to nutrition students, cutting-edge professional education and techniques to physicians, and a one-of-a-kind centre for lifelong wellness, disease prevention and treatment to persons seeking exceptional nutrition and health care.
The Friedman School is committed to expanding the breadth and quality of nutrition worldwide. This collaboration with the government of Ras Al Khaimah gives the School a unique opportunity to educate future nutrition leaders and mid-career professionals - and bring needed expertise in prevention and treatment of preventable chronic disease to the region.
